CLINICAL SUPERVISION & CONSULTATION

My Supervision Approach

I am excited to offer both supervision and consultation in adjunct to my clinical practice both virtually and in person.  The land I reside on is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) people, colonially known as Kelowna, BC.  I recognize that land acknowledgement alone is insufficient and I am dedicated to actively participating in both ongoing education, allyship, and reconciliation.  Part of my dedication to this work is providing culturally appropriate and sensitive services to my Indigenous community members (clients and supervisees alike) both privately and through government funded sources to remove access barriers to the best of my ability.  Clinical supervision has been pivotal in my own skill development, confidence, ethical practice, and building of my caseload, and I am keen to provide this option to other mental health clinicians.  I offer individual, dyadic, and group supervision, as well as one-off consultation, to the individual needs of clinicians.

I currently hold registration with British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and it is their Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics that guide my practice and from which I primarily draw from when providing clinical supervision and consultation.  When working with clinicians of other regulatory bodies, such as BCCSW, I do my best to remain abreast of their Code of Ethics and Practice Standards to appropriately guide my supervisees, and encourage clinicians to independently source information as well.  I have been providing clinical supervision since 2024 and have completed a Foundation of Clinical Supervision Certificate Course by BCACC.

My approach to supervision is informed by an intersectional feminist framework, with a strong focus on building reflexive practice, ethical decision making, skill-building, as well as exploring complex presentations and risk management.  Similar to my clinical work, I approach this delicate work relationally, trauma-informed, with nervous system attunement, and strive to demonstrate cultural competency towards clinicians and their clients.  My supervision work is anchored in collaboration, relationship, and bidirectional feedback.  I have strong values of social justice, cultural responsivity, unconditional positive regard, compassion, and curiosity that inform my work and are central to my practice.  I encourage supervisees to show up in supervision with general questions, a case presentation, or clinical themes, and to engage in a collaborative process that allows us to identify areas where learning or further developing a skill may be supportive.

If you are curious about engaging in supervision with me, please don't hesitate to reach out.  Please note that at this time I do not provide supervision for students or clinicians who are pre-licensed.
